A look from the base village
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The initial plains. Small ascends. Yellow flowers like a carpet on both sides
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like I forgot to click a good number of photos. Climbing the last leg to reach Padmavati Machi
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting ready to climb the main peak and the fort
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Narrow, thickly wooded pathway through the side of the peak
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A view of one of the bastions of the fort on top
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Suvela machi stretching behind us
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

View of the Padmavati Machi and palace ruins from top
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looking around from top. Ruins of the fort. Bastions....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A trail down below. One of the access points to Padmavati machee. As seen from top
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Endless stretches of green mountains and lakes touching the horizon
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sheer joy of experiencing the nature
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 2 - Morning
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trek to Sanjeevani Machi. The two km stretch is through the other side of the main peak
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early morning. Fresh. Sunlight spells magic on distant mountains and valleys
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back at the Padmavati Machi
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The descend was exciting and a bit adventorous. This is a trail which is very rarely used and typically only by hard core trekkers. Steep, and wooded. It was rocky for some initial part. And in many places, it was steep and muddy, with thorny bushes and no mark of a trail. Everyone was sitting and sliding. Some of us lost our way adding a bit excitement. To top it all, we were running against time. The timings for all - The jeep from base village to the highway, the ST bus from high way to Pune, and the bus from Pune to Mumabai -were all fixed.

I think i was awed by the sheer beauty of the place. But your pictures seem much much more fascinating.
That place need justice we need to visit it again next year, and definitely in the monsoons.
